City of Genoa – Culture Department – Cultural Policies Office
The Cultural Policies Office is part of the municipality of Genoa and supports the cultural politics of the city's public administration through the realisation of initiatives and events. In addition, it sustains the activities promoted by the Culture Department in order to improve public welfare. The priorities lie in facilitating access to culture for the wider public by promoting festivals and other major events as well as in instigating intercultural dialogue. The city's participation in MELT was initiated by the Cultural Policies Office to create a network between the different ethnic groups in the city, in part involving a collaboration with the "Chance Eventi" association which stages the multi-ethnic Suq Festival.
